Could someone elaborate on this for me - when I contribute source files
and/or patches to reSIProcate, I assume I retain copyright in those. Is
there any intention to pool the IP rights into any single organisation,
or for everyone to simply retain copyright in their contributions?

Whoever writes the code owns the copyright. Consequently, you own the
copyright on all of the files in sipdial. If third parties now make
additional contributions or enhancements to sipdial, they will own the
copyright on the portions that they contributed.

resiprocate itself owns no copyright rights and we have no intention
of ever requesting that developers assign copyright.

I will add the Vovida license info to sipdial.
This should address all of the concerns. You should also add a
copyright statement to each file as well.
