[reSIProcate-users] Third Party RTP integration with Resiprocate

Dear Scott,

I am planning to make an application similar to Conversation Manager @ http://www.resiprocate.org/Design_ideas_for_future_projects.

As you have suggested to use Dialog Usage Manager(DUM) project for my starting ground, will this application will be good idea to use DUM for above mentioned application.

Thanks & Regards,

Hi all,

I need to work on integration of third party RTP stack with open source stack.

Please provide me solutions to following concerns:

1. Can we integrate third party RTP with Resiprocate if yes, then which resiprocate project is better suited for this task?

[Scott] Yes of course – resiprocate does not provide any media handling, so it is expected that if you need media, then you will integrate a third party media stack.  There have be many integrations done by the current users: ones that come to mind are: GIPs, sipXtapi, oRTP, and Natural Microsystems (I know there are many more).  You will most likely want to use the Dialog Usage Manager (DUM) project as your starting ground.

2. Has anyone integrated RTP stack with resiprocate projects if yes, please provide the refrence?

[Scott]  There are two open-source integrations of sipXtapi media stack into resip/DUM:

-          Conversation Manager – recon project:  https://svn.resiprocate.org/viewsvn/resiprocate/main/resip/recon/

-          Boston Bridge Conference server:  http://www.resiprocate.org/Sample_Application_with_RTP_%28Media%29

-          GIPs used to post a sample for their media stack integrated with resiprocate on their website

If you need more inputs from me please feel free to get in touch with me.

Thanks & Regards,
