[reSIProcate] reSIProcate in Google Summer of Code / GSoC 2015?
The deadline for this is Friday
reSIProcate could make an application to participate in Google Summer of
Code. Google would then pay one or more students to contribute for
about 12 weeks.
This probably needs at least 2 people as admins and maybe 3 or more
people (including the admins) who are willing to mentor
Each mentor has the final decision about whether to accept any student
or not accept any student at all if not satisfied with the applicants.
Even if you don't have time to mentor, if you have contacts in
universities who can refer suitable students that can help the project a
lot.
There are several changes to the project that make it easier for a
student to contribute:
- Github pull requests are easier to review
- the repro plugin interface - a student could make a plugin and publish
that in their own repository
- the repro Python scripting support - a student with no C++ knowledge
may be able to do some interesting stuff with Python
- WebRTC - a student could potentially do some interesting front end or
combination of repro+JSCommunicator
I'm personally willing to volunteer as an admin and mentor if there is
interest from other people.
