[reSIProcate] Media layer recommendations

DirectShow is part of the Microsoft Platform SDK:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/platformsdk/ <http://msdn.microsoft.com/platformsdk/>

But DirectShow is not a SIP media stack, it is rather
a media (playback, record, stream, convert, render,
capture etc.) framework that is also used by
Windows media player and virtually any codec on the
Windows platform.

I am using DirectShow (Windows only, of course) with custom built filters.

What are people using for a media layer in applications that they're building? I'm aware of the GIPS stuff, and have been looking at sipXmediaLib. Are there others I should be considering?

			Thanks
