[reSIProcate] On Registration - pls clarify

Hi

REGISTER without Contact header is fetching of current binding for given
AOR.

So server must respond with 200 without contact, you don't need any update
in Location service.

10.2.3 Fetching Bindings

A success response to any REGISTER request contains the complete list

of existing bindings, regardless of whether the request contained a

Contact header field. If no Contact header field is present in a

REGISTER request, the list of bindings is left unchanged.

Regards,

Alex

Subject: [reSIProcate] On Registration - pls clarify

Hi all,

I have a very fundamental query.

What happens when a first REGISTER arrives from a UA to a Register and it
does not

have a Contact header field ?

Will it be ok to say ( as per RFC 3261 ) that the Registrar will respond
with 200 OK with Contact header field

containing no values ( empty ). Will or should the Registrar actually
create an index into its "Location service"

database with the AOR of the To header and leave it empty ? Or should it
simply respond with 200 OK and do

nothing ?

Any comments ?

-regards

Asheesh
