Sonunds like you typed 'make' in the checked out build. There might be issues with this.
Check the Wiki (http://resiprocate.org/ for link) on how to use autotools or how to build.

The tarball that we'd like people to test has not been made available yet, someone will post 
to the list once a candidate tarball is available.
