Re: [reSIProcate-users] Media change between 183 Session Progress and 200 OK

I think that once you give an answer in a provisional, the answer in the 200 needs to be the same. There is some text in 3261 on page 80 that reads:

"The UAC MUST treat the first session
         description it receives as the answer, and MUST ignore any
         session descriptions in subsequent responses to the initial
         INVITE."

So, if you do change the answer in the 200, the UAC is supposed to ignore it.

Best regards,

Hello,

This is a theoritical question about SIP. When the following call flow occurs:

INVITE ---------------->

<----- 183 Session Progress ( media )

======= RTP =====>

<------- 200 OK ----------

<====== RTP =====>

ACK --------------------->

Is forbidden to change have a different media answer in the 183 Session Progress and the 200 OK provided that both answers are compatible with the offer?

I checked the RFCs (SIP, SDP offer/answer model and some various outdated draft) and could not find any definite answer.
