Ok Ive upgraded to 1.4 and thats fixed the problems with building but 
when I do 'make install' I get the following errors

make[1]: Entering directory `/home/andrew/Desktop/resiprocate-1.4.1/rutil'
install -d '/home/andrew/Desktop/sip_build'
install -d '/home/andrew/Desktop/sip_build' /lib
install obj.debug.Linux.i686/librutil.a '/home/andrew/Desktop/sip_build' 
/lib/librutil.a
install: target `/lib/librutil.a' is not a directory
make[1]: *** [install] Error 1

Any ideas please?
