[reSIProcate-users] Content Delivery Platform
Hello,
I am starting a new project and I believe reSIProcate is right for the project but I would like some feedback.
The project is a Content Delivery Platform that uses peers(p2p) to assist in the delivery of music, video, games, and software to a users desktop. We have a prototype that uses network peers to assist in the streaming of video from YouTube and also downloads from Microsoft update center. The project is similar to BitTorrent, but will be used by B2B companies in a different way.
Using reSIProcate to place phone calls or video calls is very similar to sending or receiving a file. A conference phone call where everyone is speaking and listening for information is very similar to a BitTorrent mesh where everyone is sending and receiving information.
How I think reSIProcate can be used.
+ repro - The server that does the proxy signaling between peers when a user(s) is selected for a file transfer. Would be extended to keep track of what peers are sharing what. Source selection.
+ reSIProcate SIP Stack - client side signaling
+ reflow & reTurn - Does the NAT traversal and ICE for forming network connections between peers
I also believe that reSIProcate's client and server stacks lay a great foundation for future projects that are blurry at the moment.
Thoughts?
Thanks,
-chris
