Re: [reSIProcate] about "a=x-rtp-session-id"
This question should really be posed to the Counterpath support forum, but
anyhow...
It's a private SDP extension, hence the 'x-', to identify the RTP remote
source. This ID would then be placed in the RTCP private extension field,
used for this purpose. This approach is especially useful in the case of
forking where your advertised media host/port may receive RTP data from
various sources and you want to match up the stream with the dialog. There
are other heuristic ways to determine this but using an ID is a sure way.
The use of this extension attribute will be removed soon to be compliant
with RFC4566 (Section 10).

Subject: [reSIProcate] about "a=x-rtp-session-id"
Hi resip,
Today I see in eyebeam's sdp, there is following:
a=x-rtp-session-id:663EBBA451B741909024C82821116262
what's the meaning of this attribute? Does it come from RFC or just eyebeam
private protocol? Can anyone tell me? Thanks!
Regards,
hongsion
