Suse's Yast offers two DB4 options for installation: version 4.0 and
4.1. It installed db_cxx.h at /usr/include/db40 or /usr/include/db41.
Libraries are at /usr/lib and I found the following:
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 850775 2004-10-05 09:37 libdb-4.1.so
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 953327 2004-10-05 07:29 libdb-4.2.so
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 12 2005-02-16 00:03 libdb-4.so -> libdb-4.2.so
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1139386 2004-10-05 09:42 libdb_cxx-4.1.a
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 822 2004-10-05 09:37 libdb_cxx-4.1.la
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 933983 2004-10-05 09:37 libdb_cxx-4.1.so
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 1054898 2004-10-05 07:29 libdb_cxx-4.2.so

libdb_cxx-4.2.so
