[reSIProcate] FW: [sipx-users] Presence IM compatibility of sipX
Scott,
I am interested in contributing. What is the procedure for contributing and
what has been done up to date? I assume I need to grab a HEAD version from
subversion repository. If not, please let me know what I need to grab to
begin setting up the environment. Any advice would be appreciated ;-)
Alex

As far as I know, the sipX proxies are compatible with the Messenger
protocols, in that the SIP they do will be routed correctly, and as you
found, it's possible to register if the credentials are set correctly.
We do not have an implementation of a SIMPLE presence server yet, either
using the standard or the 'enhanced' version that Messenger does. This
would be an excellent project for someone to do - between the sipX
servers and some of the IM code in the resiprocate project, there is
quite a lot of the infrastructure done. If anyone is interested in
contributing to such an effort, please say so on the dev list.
